The 2006 Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte real estate market broke
$200 million dollars for the second year in a row. ($236 million in 2005)
We saw a total of $133 million residential properties sold and $68 million of vacant land properties sold. Interestingly, a total 35 homes sold for $1 million or more. Additionally, 8 land properties sold in this price range and 3 commercial properties sold at an average price of $1.2 million.

Steamboat Ski Area sold for $265 million to giant resort developer Intrawest. It wasn't that long ago that the Muellers almost purchased that ski resort instead of Crested Butte. Read more about this transaction in my blog.
